watercolor lessons

It's been a long while since I've picked up a paint bush. I've been practicing again, I've been reading "Painting People" by Michaelin Otis.  I tend to forget things and techniques once I havent applied them in a long time.  It sort of dawned on me, maybe I will finally get  the peace and quiet time to paint for the rest of  the summer.

This would be my first watercolor painting exercise for 2011 :) hurrayyyy. It's on page 28 if you stumble upon the book.
Who every thinks that people just suddenly starts painting without even a sketch on the canvas is a loony. I still use the graph technique because it is easier that way! :) Portraits are very tricky and very demanding. In applying this technique you avoid the unnecessary out of proportion mistakes.

Watercolor is very hard to manage, but you get to easily erase your mistakes with a dab of water!

She is looking a lot more darker, only cause it is wet. I haven't erased the lines either, because I still need them.

Not done, but almost.. still have to add clothes and background. maybe fix her eyes, nose, and head gear.
